Strategy + Storytelling
As founder and principal of Cabengo, an award-winning, New-York based creative consultancy, I have had the privilege of directing strategy and design projects for some of the world’s leading institutions and thinkers, among them Harvard University, the Smithsonian Institution, University of Pennsylvania, Retired Supreme Court Justice Sandra Day O’Connor/ iCivics, Contemporary Jewish Museum, and the Center for Children and Technology.
Our work, a mix of digital, branding, and experiential, has earned industry recognition from the Webby Awards, South by Southwest Interactive, Applied Arts Magazine, MuseWeb, and Business Week Magazine. For more information about Cabengo, including a list of projects and clients, visit the website.
Mediation
I am a New York State certified mediator and volunteer mediator for the New York Peace Institute, a community dispute resolution center. I trained in community mediation because I wanted to understand how to communicate in the “heat” of conflict, and I wanted to see if I could find a way to help heal the partisan rancor that I was witnessing in my own communities.
Knowing how to get at the interests that undergird deeply-held positions is a valuable skill in these divisive times. Working toward peace, one person at a time, is, for me, a profoundly meaningful act.
Facilitation
I facilitate meetings - both structured custom workshops and unstructured group conversations. I draw from a variety of problem solving frameworks including design thinking, liberating structures, design sprints, negotiation, and lean start up.
I have applied these frameworks to a wide range of organizational challenges and topics, including mitigating risk in pharmacogenomics for the Penn Center for Precision Medicine, future casting new technologies in special reconnaissance for US Special Operations Command, aging and caregiving for Fidelity Investments, and empowering teams for Weill Cornell Medicine.
